020: A Bird Sitting On a Tree

“A bird sitting on a tree is never afraid of the branch breaking, because her trust is not on the branch but on it’s own wings. Always believe in yourself” – Unknown

This was drawn by Rachops.

A very good analogy that is applicable in any era. Sadly nobody seems to know who said it. It is genius. Maybe a naturalist said it?

In this world, a lot of things are going to stand in your way, or give way beneath you. Even the most well laid plans can derail. But if we can rely on our own abilities, then we can go far.

Sometimes, it’s not where we are in life that matters. It’s the skills and expertise that can bring us anywhere. This brings to mind stories of how entrepreneurs create a successful business, see it topple or hit a low point, and then re-create a brand new successful business again. Kind of like the story of Zappos founder, Tony Hsieh. He inspires me.

Do you have a life story relating to believing in yourself even though things go sour? Do let me know in the comments below.
