025: Take Chances, Take A Lot Of Them

“Take chances, take a lot of them. Because honestly, no matter where you end up and with whom, it always ends up just the way it should be. Your mistakes make you who you are. You learn and grow with each choice you make. Everything is worth it. Say how you feel, always. Be you, and be okay with it.” – Unknown

The story and storyboarding this time wasn’t done by me, a first for us here at RC.
The story was done by Maja. She can write any story for you too.

I find this quote to be for the people who maybe have a confidence issue. It goes beyond just basic shyness, or introversion. There are things out there worth striving for, and if we don’t go out there and risk ourselves, we can never obtain them. Risking ourselves opens us up to failure, but in every case, it opens us up to being in a better position than before.

If you succeed, that’s great.
If you fail, that’s great too because you have learnt.
If you did nothing, that’s nothing great.

I guess that’s what this quote was trying to say. Those of you who believe in the law of attraction would probably also notice the idea of serendipity placed in the quote and comic. I don’t believe in outright serendipity. I believe in making the best of what life gives to us. In that sense, we create our own serendipity. But only if we get out there and allow serendipity to find us.

When I was younger, I used to be like the character in the comic. I am an introvert, so learning to talk to others wasn’t on the agenda for me. I have grown to have low confidence, but thanks to my family, I don’t have this problem. Still, it was only after countless experiences of being unable to speak up to strangers that made me realise things had to change. I can remember how difficult it was for me just to buy food because I had to interact with a shop keeper. It was tough, and I’m still an introvert, but over many years I have built up my ability to speak to almost anyone and be a professional emcee. I really expected to end up doing something like emceeing, but well, I put myself out there, and I guess serendipity found me.

I hope this quote helps you to push you out of your comfort zone and onto the path to becoming or being better in any way. If you have a personal story of putting yourself out there, tell me in the comments below.
