030: Robert Collier – Success Is The Sum

“Success is the sum of small efforts, repeated day in and day out” – Robert Collier

This was drawn by A. Kelly. Check out his work at his blog.

For your info, the main character in the comic is a Sikh.

Robert Collier was an author in self-help and New Thought. Take at the books he wrote. His book, The Secret of The Ages (1926),  was also a big inspiration for the popular New Thought book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne that came out a few years ago.

I believe I mentioned before that I’m not really a believer in New Thought. However, I do find a lot of what Collier says to be true. Especially this quote from him. Some people tell you to work hard, some tell you to work smart. Either way, the work has to get done, and this is achieved with daily effort. Success doesn’t just drop from the sky.

Just like in the comic above daily effort also helps in terms of breaking up a big goal into smaller chunks. Do a chunk a day, and you are closer to your goals. Success might not come all at one go for most start-ups. But with daily effort, it will come eventually. I hope this comic will help you remember that.

In the comic, the goal was to hit 1,000,000 customers. Our goal at Rational Comics is to hit 1,000 subscribers. You can help us by hitting that subscribe button on the left (or at the bottom of the page for mobile users). You’ll get an exclusive printable poster from us.
