Thanks for your support (for June and July)

I want to say a big heartfelt THANK YOU to everyone who supported Rational Comics in the past few months!

It doesn’t matter if you were just a casual reader who just stumbled across our comics, or you are a hardcore subscriber who anticipates our comics every Monday. My gratitude goes to all of you.

For the period of June and July we’ve had a spike of activity from readers and subscribers. The numbers of shares are higher, and we found out way to 9GAG twice in July. June’s share contest was a success too, with many people sharing the comics just because they wanted to and not just for the contest. I can’t track the sharing, I only can see the overall numbers. Though I think there is a lot of sharing that goes off the ‘social media grid’, in messaging apps or other forms of word-of-mouth. As it is, for the longest time, traffic to the site has been from ‘unknown’ sources. Google Analytics just tells me these are direct traffic, and can’t pinpoint a source. If there are any web traffic experts amoung you, I’d like to hear what you have to say. But for now, I’m assuming there is just so much sharing and buzz created by everyone that people are just keying in “Rational Comics” directly arriving at the site.

Fan and Subscriber Increase

The one thing I can track however is the number of fans and subscribers we have.

Let’s all look at the numbers from the start of June to today (at the time of this writing).

  • From 413 to 1,503 Facebook Fans, up by 1,090
  • From 0 to 134 Friends for Euphrons our mascot
  • From 240 to 283 Twitter followers, up by 43
  • From 4 to 23 Google followers, up by 19
  • From 1 to 6 Linkedin followers
  • From 79 to 106 Tumblr followers, up by 27
  • From 1 to 61 Feedly RSS readers, up by 60
    • Last by not least:
  • From 51 to 193 Rational Comic Subscribers, up by 142

If you are one of the many, good on you! If you are reading regularly, but haven’t clicked on my like or subscribe buttons, that okay too, but why not make your readership official?

Thank you for all your subscriptions, likes and shares, and for telling your friends.

Thanks to everyone for being a part of Rational Comics. Knowing that people out there want to read out comics really pumps me up to make more.

Special Thanks

I would also want to name a few people in particular for special thanks.

Jon Brooks of High Existence and his team. For featuring Rational Comics on their website, and continually promoting said feature. You’ve been a great help to me and by exposing us to your readers.

Richa Kaushik, for our first fan mail. As someone receiving fan mail for the first time in ever, it was exhilarating to me, and a big boost in confidence. I guess this random act went really far.

The two un-named individuals who put Rational Comics on 9GAG for the 2nd and 3rd time. Because that was a big act of ‘spread the word’, done twice.

My girlfriend, SM, and my best friend Erika (of sumopock). For being the early beta testers and for proofreading my work. Well, I had to make sure the comics I drafted up were of a readable standard, and I had to start testing them somewhere.

I want to thank my team

A large kudos goes to the Rational Comics artist team. They really are the stars of the comics.

You guys know who you are. I have personally sent you a message to come and look at this.

Some of you have been with me since the start. Some of you have just joined us. It’s been 9 months since we launched Rational Comics proper. It’s been 9 months of comics of weekly comics. And you guys have been consistently been making good art all the way.

I’m proud of that.

I’m proud to call us a team. I’m very delighted that we can work well together and make good comics. I’ve said many times before that I can’t draw, so without you all, this website won’t have existed. You guys put the COMICS into Rational Comics.

Conclusion

I remember last year when we were launching Rational Comics. I had some anxiety of how it would turn out. I was wondering whether anyone would come and read the comics. I was wondering if anyone would find any of the comics worthy to share.

Well, I guess the numbers speak for themselves. I know all you people are out there. Thanks for just stopping by at our humble comic publishing website.

Now I can’t imagine how things will be like when we hit our 1st year anniversary. Woo!

P.S. I’ll be introducing a few minor changes this month and the next, so stay tuned for that.
